So lemme get this straight... most apartments and homes don't come standard with an AC unit? Damn, I've been living in Texas too long. Pretty much every single indoor structure in Dallas has AC.

well, after I posted the thread I got my things and took a drive. I drove to the nearest Subway, 1 block away, and enjoyed the nice cool night. Got myself a nice Subway Club Value meal :p and headed back to my home (ie: Hell).

I dont really understand why my apt gets so freakin hot, but It does. I dont have central AC but I do have a cheap old AC in the living room which I refuse to turn on with these ridiculous electric rates so &^%&^&%&%&$% high. :|

I'm @ work and this place is always cool, (not work itself, i'm talking about the temp) I hate work, so what am I to do. On one hand I get to be nice and chilly, on the other I get to sit on my ass and watch the time move as though 1 sec = 1 min and 1 min = 1 hour. Waiting for something to do, and when I do get my list of things to do, I realize its 5 mins of work.......

it's too dangerous to walk in LA. I'm serious. I think you're safer within a car than walking on the sidewalk.

Isn't that a law in Texas? I seem to remember a friend of mine telling me that after she moved there.

When I went to LA for a conference, we didn't feel like paying the crazy high prices for alcohol in the hotel, so we walked probably 8 blocks, at 9:30pm (in november) to a liquor store. And then walked back. Never was I so afraid for my life. This was right downtown too, I forget the name of the hotel we were at....The Rosemont? Something like that. We were about a block from that giant clover shaped hotel. And the homeless! My god the homeless people were EVERYWHERE! At least in SanJose, they're still wearing their suits from being fired from their DotCom jobs. Of course, the homeless in LA don't ask to use your PDA for a quick fix like the ones in Jose do :D

Accidently toured the L. Ronn Hubbard museum while there too. What a trip :D

MrBond: what I say.........too bad I didnt post this earlier....it would have been a good warning. Let me ask a question: have you ever walked in the streets of Compton or the Watts area? (those who live in LA)

Erm, isn't that a good thing? I wouldn't mind being paid to sit around and do nothing, bring a book, or bring hw.

Wuss :p I've walked around in downtown LA in the dead of the night without a problem. Lived in Berkeley for two years, and walked around at night every freaking day without a problem.

I think danger from walking around at night mainly stems from whether you look like a pussy or not.
