What you fail to realize is just how often (sadly) this approach works. But you never know unless you try, and fail, repeatedly. Success may not be an easily calculable thing, but there will still be success. Most girls can change their entire opinion of something or someone in an instant for absolutely no reason, and I can't even put a number on the amount of times I've seen a girl show no interest or outright ignore a guy only to leave with him. Trying is better than getting knocked aside by the guy who IS trying.
