Its SNOWING!

And on the roads of San Antonio, people are randomly skidding into each other and immobile objects like telephone poles.

In San Antonio:

Sunny Day, 90F = do 85MPH in a 65 zone
Rainy Day, 90F = do 85MPH in a 65 zone
Sleeting/Icy Day, 32F = do 85MPH in a 65 zone, but put the windshield wipers on HIGH <--it helps, really

I heard about this from a few friends!!! 🙂

Time to go to the LBJ Library and snowboard or traysled.

Exactly!

It's wierd, they totally don't have a sense of self-preservation when it comes to bad weather here. People die every year in low water crossings, because they go around the barricades, yet every year someone else is going to try it. I don't know what it is about SA....

since I'm always saying that I'll finally win a car when hell freezes over it looks like this will be my lucky day😀

lol all four of my friends flights to AUS from IAD have been cancelled, since yesterday. He's trying tomorrow to get there - but he flys back friday - and then goes back out sunday...so waste of money IMHO...but thats gov't work for you 🙂

Oh yeah, and on WOAI this morning, they were saying there were something like 100 accidents last night alone. sheesh. :rolleyes;

Pics I took this morning of my old dish:

Sorry for the fuzziness, I wasn't about to go outside...

UPDATE
It's still sleeting now, my deck and chairs are covered in ice...

I was out earlier and was quite surprised that people were driving at reasonable speed. Everyone was doing about 30 in a 45 zone.... But I agree everyone usually drives way to fast in this kind of weather.

Another Austinite here. I actually live in Pflugerville and the snow was coming down HARD right before noon. Now it's just sleeting like crazy with a few snow flurries mixed in for good measure.

Just heard a report that the latest forecast models indicate we might end up getting two inches of the white stuff!!

This is soo weird. I live in MD, and we havent seen a flurry yet. It's been 80 degrees in my room (with the window open) for the last week. 70 degrees outside.

I move to Austin next week. I've heard it shuts down there in these situations. Hopefully it doesn't mess up my move in any way.

i drove my rc car around in it last time it snowed up there.

one time during an ice storm some guys in a wrangler decided to drive up spicewood springs from 360. they ended up with the wrangler sliding backwards down the hill and into a tree

ROFL!

That has to be one of the steepest hills in town. I don't like driving up it in the rain...

The sleet/snow has slowed down a bit for now. I think I'll risk a trip to the convenience store, even.
