Dunno if you mentioned this one before in your previous stories, but I stopped by at my local Gamestop (Chapel Hill, NC) today and tried to pre-order an x-box. I had been aware that they were offering pre-orders at least a month ago, but the friendly neighborhood manager I spoke with told me that again, Sony has stepped in (at a corporate level apparently) and they are no longer allowed to take x-box pre-orders. This has probably already been covered by you -- does EB also own Gamespot?
Anyhoo, the nice manager also mentioned that I could pre-order an x-box at the local Camelot music (which I did).
hope that helps.

It seems Sony reps are still at it, bullying retailers into staying away from anything X-Box. We say "f*ck Sony." It?s really a sad state of affairs when they have to resort to such underhanded tactics to stay ahead. Guess their "emotion" chip only turned out one emotion: FEAR. Fear of Microsoft and X-Box. Fear of failure.
Ha ha. Which will turn out to be the bigger failure, Sega?s Saturn or Sony?s PS2? It?ll be fun to watch Sony go down in flames. Burn, baby, burn. >>
