DigiTimes also has numerous articles about the resurgence of the Taiwan Markets as well.

Damnit.

Kinda noticed it when the $20AR 4GB DDR2 deals ended earlier this year, and more recently the $70AR 6GB DDR3 deals.

Capex won't be able to catch-up the capacity to counter the impending shortfall. It'll help, but there is little you can do to shorten the install and qualification cycle for new tools in the fab, assuming the capacity expansion is available without having to build a new fab.

yeah this pretty much confirms the trend that was being noticed at least a month ago...

Good news, and Bad... all in one package !!

Yep its confirming those analysts were right, will be good times for the memory makers (profits for a while hopefully) and for the tool makers.

Won't be the last time memory prices went up and down and up and down. Commodities prices vary way more than unique products.

I remember how great it was when memory prices got below $100 a MEGABYTE. Then a shortage took prices back to $300 to $400 a Megabyte, pricing most of us out of the joys of Expanded (EMS) and Enhanced Expanded Memory (EEMS) back around 1988.
