It's pretty icey out, LOL

We were on our way home from helping a friend move, about to drop off a huge budget rental truck, and it started to sleet/rain in 20F, which turned the roads into about 1inch~ of ice. Rear wheel drive, in a huge truck ... we were driving sideways, haha...it sucked!

I've never seen it so shitty, even during rush hour have I seen traffic this bad. This was taken at 11:50PM!

Cops were everywhere...helping people and in ditches.

Did you used to live in Canada? I thought we had some buy/sell thing years ago and you were in the frozen tundra. Maybe I'm mistaken

There too? They wait until the first ice on the road before they ever attach the sanding equipment and plows to the trucks?

Hope they closed the airport up there. Otherwise everyone in Minnesota over 80 years old will hop a plane and start driving a 90ft RV in my fair city.

Yeah, it was sketchy even walking to my car last night, much less driving home. As luck would have it I'm driving a dealer loaner with AWD and all-season tires, as opposed to my own car with RWD and Blizzaks. I like mine better . . .

We are in Idaho Falls, ID right now. It was very icy last night. People were driving like they never seen ice before.

I'm getting a bit worried. We haven't had any snow or ice yet. Whenever it takes this long to come, it comes in loads. We'll probably get a 14 incher soon.

My apartment overlooks I-94 and they had cops block it off, cars basically weren't moving and a guy in an SUV got stuck on the off ramp holding up everyone behind him. He didn't understand that more gas does not equal more traction on ice...

A few then got the bright idea to start using the on ramp as an exit ramp, much to the displeasure of the officer blocking off the on ramp, he had some interesting things to say to the first car he stopped, haha.

I've never seen it so bad either and a little puzzled that it wasn't forecast to get out and salt/sand ahead of time, but the sidewalks were a good time!

I'm like 80 miles south of you and all we got was a little rain and it froze quick, aah to have a compitent snow removal city, there wasn't any ice on the road last night.

I haven't checked the weather reports yet, but I wonder if we'll see some freezing precipitation in the next few days. (NY) It'd be nice! Makes it easier to see the deer.

I actually drove home at 3am last night. The freeways were much better since the salt trucks came by already. I was going 35 from 494 to 694 to Brooklyn Center. I've never seen so many semi-trucks and cars on the side of the road before. There was a semi-truck turned 180 degrees around in the snow bank when I passed it. Scary stuff.

That's cuz no one cares about 694, now 35e is what matters.

Fuck that. I DO NOT miss the cold, snow, and ice.

Get ready for more...we're in the 3rd day of the "first winter storm of the season" here.
We've had quite a bit of rain and cold weather. (lows in the 40's...brrr!)

It's heading your way.😛

We drove home from Forest Lake to Blaine on 35/35W last night at around 12:30, dozens of cars in the ditch. Some of them were way off the road, those idiots must have trying to drive the speed limit. We took it at about 35mph and it wasn't too bad.

I loaned my uncle my RWD car last night while his is in the shop. Hope he wasn't planning on going anywhere today. 😛

It literally just hit, and within 2-5 minutes, it was an inch of ice ... our huge budget trick was doing 360's around American BLVD, haha.
