Saturday before LOTR started one of the trailers started out with the theme score from Conan the Barbarian. I was thinking no way, could it finally be the last part of the Conan trilogy? Not a chance, it was the freaking Scorpion King! I felt so violated. I still feel cheap and dirty from it. The Rock stole Conan's score! If Conan ever met the Scorpion King, Conan would drive him into the ground like a fence post.
 
They re-use scores all the time. The current promo for Beautiful Mind features the score from Sixth Sense.
