Woman confronts hit-and-run driver, and dies.

Sounds like an episode of Law and Order. The suspect, Abdelaziz Hamze, was arrested while seated in a plane about to take off for Athens! He had allegedly run over the victim, who had confronted him. The victim got stuck under his vehicle and was dragged to her death over several miles in Fort Lauderdale.

Lesson: Do not attempt to block a hit-and-run driver with your own body. It's just a stupid car.

It's only a cell phone--Don't die for it!
By Stanley B. Chambers, Staff Writer
A 16-year-old Durham teen drowned today at Falls Lake after jumping into the water to retrieve his cell phone, according to Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison.
Eddie Allen of 1905 S. Roxboro St. was fishing with his mentor, Garrett McCollum, 24, of Durham, when his cell phone fell into the lake. McCollum warned Allen not to go in after it, but the teen jumped into the water.

He immediately had trouble, Harrison said, and McCollum jumped in after him.

But McCollum also had trouble in the water and a nearby fisherman, Scott Blay, came to McCollum's rescue. Blay was not able to reach Allen in time.

Harrison said his office is treating the case as an accidental drowning.

:( It's senseless. The cell phone was probably fried anyway. Scary to think that BOTH friends could've died.

Wow, he had so many tickets before this. I thought they suspend your license after a certain amount of points are put on?

Good point, but with this guy's hx, he would have continued driving anyway.

It was nearing 10 p.m. Sunday when Hall, her fiance and others were driving on State Road 7 in their Cadillac after an evening of slots and drinks at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. According to Michael Williams, the van rear-ended the car at State Road 7 and Riverland Road. The van sped off, he said, but they caught up to it at a red light.

Alcohol + anger = lack of judgment. :(

At least they caught the guy - I doubt they'd ever get him, once he got to Greece.

Okay, to all of those calling the woman drunk/dumb/etc. have at least a little bit of compassion...

She made a bad, spur of the moment decision, but it certainly isn't her fault that the guy decided to drive over her and drag her bloody corpse along for miles...

I saw this article in our paper this morning and I, too, thought that it was awfully stupid to stand in front of the car, especially when she was close enough to get the license. But then, if it had been me, I probably would not EVER think that someone would just drive over me and drag my body down the road over so little a thing. :(

A guy rear-ends you and drives off; that's a pretty clear indication that he doesn't concern himself with your well-being.

Just get the plate numbers and call the cops.
