No idea. The U.S. system is clearly broken, but the Canadian system also has some serious defects. I can't say which is worse.
Because of where I live and how my insurance works, the U.S. system is for me, far and away superior to what my brother is dealing with. Though before reaching 65 I was paying a couple bucks shy of $2k a month for coverage with an aggregate deductible of $12k plus a copay for office visits.
The equation seems to be huge personal cost for good care, or tax supported cost for fairly poor care. No matter how you cut it, the people that can pay will always receive better care than the folks who can't.
