It's Official! Knight Rider's KITT a Shelby GT500KR

Would like to have seen them stick with a Pontiac - the new G8 would make a sweet KITT. But not bad.

I love Mustangs but wtf...that's a disgrace to the original ones. They can't take a concept Camaro at the very least? (still not the original, but least it's the "same")

See, now I'm conflicted as to whether or not I should mention this in my narrations from time to time. It's a cool thing to throw out there, but inevitably, it'll bring about some guy talking about how they ruined the show (well duh) and it should be a GM or specifically a Trans Am...

I guess they want the show to fail.

I think it's just a horrible premise to begin with regardless of which car they use. This isn't the 1980s and reviving campy TV shows from the 80s just seems like a bad idea.

Right, they should have used a boat instead.

Announcer: We now return to "Knight Boat: The Crime-Solving Boat."
Michael: Faster, Knight Boat! We gotta catch those starfish poachers.
Knight Boat: You don't have to yell, Michael, I'm all around you.
Michael: Oh, no! They're headed for land.
[The poachers ride onto the beach, jump on motorcycles, and speed away].
Michael: We'll never catch them now.
Knight Boat: Incorrect--look! A canal.
Homer: Go, Knight Boat, go!
Bart: Oh, every week there's a canal.
Lisa: Or an inlet.
Bart: Or a fjord.
Homer: Quiet! I will not hear another word against the boat.
Marge: OK, TV off. It's family time.
Homer: Oh, but Marge! Knight Boat, the crime-solving boat!
Marge: Homer, you promised. One night of family time a week. Besides, that back-talking boat sets a bad example.
Bart: Says you, woman.

LOL!!!!!!

Now thats pathetic, looks like they went with the highest bidder then the better choice in cars. Hope it fails now.

Just to show you how out of touch I am, this is the first I heard of a new Knight Rider series.

I agree a Koenigsegg would be better, or a Ferrari or Lamborghini or Corvette or ANYTHING but what they got.
It looks totally wrong for the series, and cars with that shape look silly with spoilers anyway.

It should be a Camaro.

I barely remember the premise of Knight Rider. It was something about him getting shot, and they gave him this supercar for some reason?

Airwolf was much cooler.

QFT!!!!! Don't think this isn't ALL ABOUT MONEY!!!!!!!!!

Nobody on the show cares WHAT the car is so long as the sponsoring motor co. is willing to pay.

Aside from the fact that the new Camaro would OBVIOUSLY be a shoe-in for such a show, I have another problem with the car..............

HOW THE FVCK DO YOU PUT A FVCKING RICE-WING ON A MOTHER-!#y!%$! !#$^ING M-U-S-T-A-N-G!!!!!! :| :| :| :| :| :|

I am going to preface this with the fact that I am a huge fan of the current Mustang.

KITT was better as a '57 Chevy in the Knight Rider 2000 movie than as a Mustang. It just doesn't fit. Of course, neither does the new Camaro concept. A Corvette would have though.

Yea the mustang, esp with that hood, is awful. I think a C5 corvette with fixed headlights would look much nicer. The C6 would be ok but it has more a exotic look then the smoother C5 IMO.

as a side note... does anyone know WHERE to get the KR2000 movie?!?! I know I'm crazy for wanting to watch it... but someone lost my recording of it.. heh

KITT is supposed to be sleek and streamlined, not beefy and muscular. There is nothing sleek or streamlined about the retro S197 body style.

I think it's supposed to be included in the Knight Rider Season 1 DVD set.

I still have it on VHS from when it ran on TV.
