The thing i'm concerned about and I didnt' see anyone address this is the long term life of the battery and what kind of batteries are used.
in the past the if the Ipod's battery died, that would be it for your Ipod and you'd have to buy a new one.
What kind of batteries does the zen touch use? is there replacements readily available? I checked the Official Ipod site and couldn't find any info as to what kind of battery they use and didn't find any available fore sale on their site. same thing for zne touch.
i'm gonna hold onto my money until I'm confortable that the dang battery ain't gonna break on me, or there is an aftermarket replacement aviable.

Yes I was referring to an older model, I have no experience with the Touch model.
Also of note the documentation said 14 hrs for the Zen Xtra, however I never got more than 8.

Aac is what you buy from iTunes, yes? Only someone with no ear whatsoever for sound quality (or blinded by Apple's marketing) would pay full price for a CD encoded in a lossy format. But then again only that type would buy an iPod anyway, since they have such low sound quality, so I guess it's a good fit. Really though, I wasn't even sure what .aac was, support for it isn't important to me whatsoever. Other DAPs cover the basics: lossless (flac), standard (mp3), and high sound quality lossy (ogg). Apple doesn't.
