It's official, craigslist sucks now.

My best score on Craiglist to-date

$30

CL is great for selling unwanted stuff. If you use it enough, its worth buying a prepaid phone for such occasions.

I just picked up an item on thee that looks brand new, even still had the protector on the screen. Paid $40, $80-100 is normal used, $199 retail. I find so many good deals on there I dunno what I'd do without Craigslist.

Stolen goods more than likely. If it isn't complete crap and the deal is too good to be true, it most likely is.

I bought my car from CL - 4k below KBB after negotiations (not bad for a $18,000 car). And it wasn't stolen - clean title and the guy I bought it from was a high level manager at GM so it was very well taken care of

I got a Weber grill that retails for$399 for 100, guy in rich neighborhood wife just wanted one with a side burner..

I wouldn't say that because I have bought, and also sold shit on there for way less, like 75% of what it was worth. It's funny what a lack of cash and a ticket that unpaid will land you in jail will lead a person to do. An irresponsible person + being desperate for cash will almost always = a killer deal. Last summer I picked up some Polk car speakers in a huge box, retail was $699, they looked unused. The dudes wife was literally going to toss them that night if he didn't get them out of the garage. $100

CL is great if you have kids...

no, not to sell them but to sell their stuff... and buy... gotta love overpriced outdoor toys from stores.

Some people just don't realize how much they paid for something originally, or it was a gift. There are some things that are commonly stolen that you expect to see, like bikes, electronics, stuff like that. Not military packs lol.

Picked up a Lowepro camera bag for 30 bucks. New it's $140, street price.
Sold a SLR camera body. After about 4 lowball offers for only 50% of typical going price, and two Nigerian scammers, someone legit called. We met at a Starbucks, and the deal was done. Yeah it's a PITA sometimes, but it can be worth it.

Craigslist is an excellent tool for finding things like boats, cars, etc.

Of course, it is totally buyer beware. If you don't know what you're doing, you shouldn't be there. It clearly doesn't have the built in protection places like eBay do. People know that when they walk in.

Electronics are especially bad in this regard. That is not a condition unique to Craigslist. The only time I buy electronics on ebay is when the seller has thousands of positive ratings. I will NEVER chance buying electronics on craigslist. It's to easy to hid things like motherboard or hard-drive problems that only appear with extended use (reboots, corruption, etc).

(Really, is it any surprise that ZaneJohnson necroed this post?)

CL isn't really that bad. I've sold cars, motorcycles, and other random junks and gotten some pretty awesome deal on some. The only thing that's annoying is when you get the spammers and scammers who copypasta replies to you.

It does suck but its because of scammers, spammers, and resellers.

No your Nintendo isn't ZOMG RARE11!1 and no its not worth $150.

The pet section is great, found good homes for a couple of feral rescue cats. Was able to post pics for free, I'm actually impressed.

The raleigh boyz were formed 4 years ago to deal with the idiots that roam R&R.

The boyz made friends with the CL staff and were given the secrets to flagging like a moderator. CL has made many changes to their system but the boyz can flag any post at will.🙄
