Well I drove to Corvallis today and got a A7-e M/B from a fellow member (FREE!) .

I got it home and tried the Chip in my board. No love.

So I figured I'd install the minimum hard ware I needed and use the board to HotFlash my old bios.

Try as I may, I could not get it to even boot into dos.

So I gutted everything and I'm just going to build on the other motherboard I've had sitting around.
At least it will handle a larger CPU that the one I trashed.

Sucks to have to start all over from scratch though.

Well at least I had a ghost on my storage drive, which is something I DIDN'T have last time I had to re do everything.

I have hot flashed before. It was a K7S5A.

1. loosen but don't remove good bios chip. boot system into dos.

2. remove good chip

3. insert dead bios chip

4. flash bios chip.

5. shut down system and make sure old bios chip is seated right and reboot and Load Defaults in BIOS.

Yeah, I know the process, I just don't have a running board that will except the chip.
