Its officer Shaq now

I don't know a lot about him, to be honest.

I know he is a professional basketball player and that is about all I know. I will say however... that with all these stars that get famous and act horribly (drugs, gangs crap, shootings, sex with underage girls, driving under the influence... etc)... it is nice to see someone who wants to set a good example and help the community.

Yeah, but he's only there because he's famous. I bet it was a lot easier for him to make the force than it would be for Joe Schmoe.

Let's hope he really wants to set a good example.

If he is only there because he is famous, then that makes it all the nicer. He could do just about anything he wants. And if it is his choice to send a message to his fans... especially the kids... that it is more cool to do something like be a cop than to hate/shoot cops... then he gets HUGE kudos, imho.

🙂

Not true. Hes able to pass all of the physical tests, and has been studying so can pass the written tests I'm sure. From what I've read, which was more then just this blurb, he's pretty serious about it. Plus, it is just the reserves for now. Its not that insanely though to join a reserve force. And a good leadin to a full time job when hes done with the NBA.

so if kobe drives for the hoop and bumps into him on christmas, shaq can slap cuffs on him for assaulting a reserve police officer?

I sure hope Shaq would! We need a change in the Laker's basketball team!
