It might help if the America poor compare their living condition and life style with the middle class in developing or third world countries. Or, challenge themselves and look the poor in third world countries.

Why of course. Because no poor people ever manage to become rich and rich people never go broke. "Rigging the system" does that for them.
I pay a top marginal tax rate of 25% on salary plus 12.5% in SS taxes. The rich pay 15% on capital gains w/ no SS taxes. I call that rigged.

If it ever really comes down to society breaking down the poor will have more guns/weapons and hands to use them than you.

lol

Where does everyone get these crazy ideas? How are the poor (who have no money and rely on the government to supply them everything from toilet paper to steak sauce) going to get guns and ammo?

GET AWAY FROM YOUR LAPTOP.. and go back to a dark room.

very few jobless people are lazy, they just dont get the job offors because workaholics and rich people are doing 70 hours a week to earn up all the money. they need to cut back to half the hours and shear the wealth!

Of course not all lazy, some are plain dumb and better to keep these out of jobs(better perhaps SSI or welfare)...imagine, if newegg employs such "workers" in handling/shipping dept.???
And, I think, we can trust more and more to chinese people to manufacture goods

Yes, but in communism I was under the impression there were no rich or poor (aside from those in charge) instead all were equal. Theoretically, I'm no good with politics either so I could also be wrong.

Yes.. I was saying the same thing basically. Everyone remains poor(to the rest of the world).. they can't possibly know the difference between rich and poor.

It might help if american people could understand that they(besides a few very rich) don't really own anything - most of what they have, are on credit card balances and mortgages...
And those $ bills printed by Federal Reserve are not covered by produced goods...
And comparing to Federal Reserve, Bernie Maddoff is a pocket picker....

I blame the nanny state goverment that keeps getting voted into power. 🙁 When people get elected who actually try do get spending under control, they get ridiculed and called crackpots themselves. The crackpots are calling the sane people crackpots, and too many idiots who follow the crackpots believe them, and repeat their statements across the Internet until the sane people hold little credibility in the eyes of the people they're trying to help.

please remind me when that has happened. Certainly not in my lifetime.

imho EVERYONE should get the best of everything!

if that means lowering the bar then so be it.

I agree. Unfortunately, the system we have really goes a long way to conserving the status quo meaning that that those fortunate enough to already be rich will stay rich and all other hard working people have to settle for less than the best. It seems that those at the top of the economic ladder do a very good job at selling the middle and lower classes the story that they are entitled to keep the material wealth to themselves and everyone else can scramble for the left-overs.

Okay, question: if you earn $150,000.00 how much of that do you think you should give to others?

And those who equate material wealth with living well are beyond helping.

exactly!! you said it perfectly.

It amazes me that people really believe that they shouldn't have to WORK to get the stuff they want. The sense of entitlement currently running rampant is astonishing.

WHY do you feel like you should be handed the things you want just because you want them?

And define "best of everything".

There are millions of people in this country who get up in the morning and work their asses off and are just "getting by" or barely "getting by." When did he say anything about being handed things without earning them?

It is the ultra wealthy who have the strongest sense of entitlement. They believe that they should live like kings and ignore the suffering of others while not contributing to the greater good of society. Think of how much suffering could be eased if they were to break down and share some of the wealth?

The rich pay a higher rate than that on the salary they earn and pay just as much as you would on capital gains.

Why not also insist that: "all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average" (Lake Wobegon) 🙄

More seriously, however, everyone should have an equal opportunity to pursue the best of everything with their success being dependent on thier own skills and effort. Sadly, it's becoming harder and harder for Americans to pretend that this is really true. Class warfare (and the end of the American dream as we know it) will come about when those who are born into the lower classes lose hope of ever being able to work their way into the middle or upper classes. Look to the Middle East now for a preview of what might happen.

You really think so??

If you do you're Dead Wrong!!

Well, I'm in the air force so if shit hits the fan. I'm on the side with nuclear bombs : p but if you seriously think just owning a gun would let you stop a mob I don't know what to say.

No one has quoted Churchill yet?

The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.

what the hell does the AF have to do with it? You can't launch a nuke. Your boss can't launch a nuke. Your weapons and ammo are locked up. You can't get to them without someone else giving you access. I can access my weapons and ammo more freely than you can.
