Maybe, but why add beans when you can add more meat since the state has plenty of it? There is a local Texas Roadhouse that does Texas style chili and it is so good you get filled up on red meat before your steak comes out.

Even in Texas beans are cheaper then beef. 🙄 And since many Texans use beans in chili, it is still Texas style.

I also happen to love beans. Pinto and dark kidney are my favorite. I like to add masa to my chili to thicken it too...the corn taste is fantastic.
 
Making another batch of crock-pot chili. This time I'm using leftover smoked beef shoulder clod and added some corn as well. I got all the ingredients in the crock-pot. I'll turn on the slow cooker before I go to sleep tonight and I should wake up to delicious chili tomorrow morning.
