That's not even funny. He'd totally blow GW out of the water when it comes to everything from common sense to the difficult decisions. Not only would he do better making decisions, his cabinet would be less likely to be corrupt. I don't know how Dick Cheney sleeps at night.

What are you basing your assumptions on? Jon Stewart is a comedian, he is not presented daily with decisions that affect the entire world. Stewart has all the time he needs to make his analysis of a situation and prepare jokes about it. The president does not have that luxury, he needs to make decisions quickly, knowing that someone is going to be upset about it. It's not like Jon Stewart comes out and says, "here's what I would have done in this situation". He just pokes fun at both sides. Don't get me wrong here, Stewart is a funny guy and I watch his show all the time, but in my opinion he just wouldn't make it as a leader.

On the first bolded text, are you serious? Do you think that Stewart can take a topic from 2002 and make a joke about it now? No. His job involves relaying news from that day and then making jokes about it. No one would watch his show if he just made jokes about something that was in the news months ago.

For the second one, you apparently have not seen him on more serious political shows. You appear to be judging based on a fake news show. You know, the news. It's that thing that is supposed to be neutral. I don't recall ever seeing Dan Rather say what he would have done during the Bay of Pigs, maybe I missed it.

I don't think that making jokes on national TV and making decisions that affect the Nation are easily compared.

And yes, I do watch the "real news" and have read one of his books.

There's little that can be compared to that. You seem to be arguing against him running for president, not for any political office at all. By your logic Reagan should never have run for any office, because he was just an actor.

Exactly...just because he's on a comedy show doesn't mean he's utterly incompetent at all other areas of life. He's a sharp guy, and I'd vote for him before a lot of others who HAVE been on the ballot.
