I was certain before clicking the link that I had not eaten anything on the list. 'Lo and behold #9 Applebee's Appetizer platter. I shared that with only one other person and each of us ordered a full meal and shake with that.

some diners are worse than canned food

The true test of a diner is their Chicken Cutlet stuffed with Spinach & Feta.

If they can do it well... it's a good diner.

THe non diet coke served with the lunch will kill you faster then any of these items.
Non diet pop is the #1 cause of diabetes. And why so many now have some form or stage of diabetes.
Especially in children.

The two things killing people faster than ever before, today, is salt in food and pop.

I don't care for any of that but burrito. Hate greasy food and cheese and sugar. Okay baby back ribs and pretty much all BBQ I die for but not pictured. WTF over?

Interesting. I don't drink anything carbonated but I do drink Gatorade like water. Better watch it.

Funny my doctor tells me soda doesn't cause diabetes, he said it comes from being overweight and not exercising. Sugar intake has no link to diabetes, so drinking soda isn't going to make you a diabetic. Well unless you drink gallons a day every day for a long time. But then you'll be a diabetic due to the weight you put on from the soda. And the soda there could be replaced with anything unhealthy in excess. Obviously Coke is bad for you, and has many negative effects on your body, but drinking it won't make you a diabetic.

The FUD spread on ATOT is crazy.

LOL k

What makes someone overweight, one has to ask.
Well, happens to most typically be, a large volume of simple carbs, most often sugars in all the high-carb foods of an unhealthy diet. Sugar isn't the only sugar, keep that in mind... sugar is only half sugar as far as our body is concerned (glucose), lactose is equal, potatoes are almost pure sugar (starches are super sugar molecules, with many glucose units).

Sugar CAN lead to diabetes. Diabetes 2 is due to insulin resistance, where the cells in the body just don't take up insulin, and thus don't take up sugar out of the blood - this typically leads to sugar getting absorbed into adipose tissue.

They key here is that it doesn't happen overnight, nor does getting fat. But if one continues to get more and more unhealthy, as a direct result of a high-carb diet that has a high glycemic load thanks to all the glucose, well... that's the number one type of person to watch develop DM Type II.

You won't really see people developing DM Type II all that often if they don't eat high-carb diets.

Also of important consideration: Sugar-free and Diet versions of foods and drinks, most often contain an artificial sweetener. Almost all of the artificial sweeteners out there force the body to react as if sugar was just consumed, which includes sending insulin into the blood from the pancreas.
