Some kids think if you just be a good boy or girl, Santa will get you awesome presents.

It use to be like that.... until the cold war..

Santa was bought out by the capitalist and now he only gives the best presents to rich kids.

It's a sad truth, but they have to know about this!

Santa was invented by capitalist in the early 1900s. Pretty sure it was Macy's that gave us the American pip culture Santa.

And he has always discriminated by class, that is one of his big selling features to stores, make the poor overspend on credit.

The West lives in a little of bubble of sorts when it comes to anti business sentiment.

Government is also business. It might be very well the first business.

At least in Japan, they recognize they're always owned by a corporation already, be the figure be embodied in the likes of Seto Kaiba, President Shinra, Tatsuya's father in Timeranger, and probably many other characters not known to me.

The socialist fails to distinguish between the two threads they support: one being the non-invasive welfare state, the other being the erosion of checks like due process and ability to contest the government. In wanting the former, the latter is accepted.

You wonder why gentrification occurs? It's because it benefits the bottom line. In particular, the asset part of their balance sheet is improved by replacing low income tax payers(or individuals being subsidized) with higher income tax payers.

You've been raised to believe that government operates independent of money. It actually is a slave to it because no money equals no government. The populace are stockholders, "owners" but not possessors of the entity. Unlike proper stockholders of private company, the common voter is instead utterly delusional that he still has power and that politicians are caring towards him.
The actual enforcers of law are government attorneys, by the operation of filing in court a claim that a violation occurred. The court will always favor government unless utter embarrassment occurs.

I see. The connection to Santa and this thread is now crystal clear.

"Santa" brings our kids far less exciting things -- books, clothes, etc. The last thing we want is them bragging at school and having other kids wonder why "Santa" doesn't like them as much.

How about don't lie to your kids for the 1st 7 years of their lives...

Grow up -- it's fun for both the kids and parents.

lol to each his own. I'm going with my boss, the therapist with some letters behind her name and 25 years experience. You lie to them during critical formative personality times about Santa, the Bunny and the tooth fairy. Then, bam... so sorry, we lied.

I'm a blast at parties, too. :)

For 10 years I worked exclusively for temporary agencies. It was very competitive around here, I couldn't get anywhere, i.e. getting ahead was out of the question. My house had the cheapest rent in town (shared house, lots of bedrooms - 6). I used to have to call multiple agencies, tell them I was available. I don't remember refusing any assignments offered me except one: I was asked to dress up as Santa and do the lap thing with kids in a shopping mall. I had to tell them I couldn't.

There's actually two Santas, one for poor people that gives used toys, and one for rich people, who gives game consoles, skidoos, and ponies. Rich people Santa actually comes in on a helicopter. Be sure to shovel your helipad on Christmas eve so he can land safely.
