It is nearing the end of a long road started almost a year ago, but we are almost done.

The web page needs some critics and I could use a whole bunch of feedback. When ready I will post the link to starting game servers. Custom games will take just a little longer before we post the link on that. For now, the servers are as follows.

ut.thegamebox.net (standard UT ver 436, map and mod rotation)
utctf.thegamebox.net (standard UT CTF maps ver 436)
utassault.thegamebox.net (nothing but assault for UT)

More are on the way as you can see from the list at the lower right hand side of the main page.

(most of those games are ready, but we are not. 🙂 )

As for netscape 4.x errors. I'm sorry, but some of the coding has taken way to long trying to get that version of netscape to look right. You will see a couple of weird problems with that browser version, (nothing more then looks on part of the page).

If this bothers you, then upgrade to netscape 6/moz6 because that browser will make this site look great.

(no IE problems found at this time)

So please take a look, and post your feed back. Keep checking the site out, because we have 6 different news areas soon to be ready to go. (the ut, half life, quake3, and descent pages still need some fixing up, but they are there. These sections will also have their own news areas about updates, or new maps on the server.)

BK, you are right. I will talk to Joel on that one. If they had an ad that they want placed on the site that would be fine. Being that they are owned by Earthweb, I didn't think twice about if the team wanted to have an ad. I will ask and see what we can do.

Dougal, Thanks for the input. Will be fixing the BG developer problem. As for pictures and missing text. The bios page does have two pictures missing, why, cause I don't have pictures yet.

And the links under the mod section, they go to pages, but some of the pages are missing links and a few are missing text. That will be fixed later today when I get the news put into the database for those games.

Just thought I would let you know that everything looks great. And the servers are good too, I had pretty decent ping times considering that the server is on the other side of the US 😉. Stopped by this morning to check it out and had a little sniper practice against the bots. Haven't played in a while, and my sniper rifle was a little rusty 😉.
 
Stopped by yesterday, stayed up entirely too late... The CTF server was cycling through maps when I first arrived then it sort of stopped at Face and just kept repeating it. Don't know if that was a bug or a feature? 🙂
