I just had one of the best meals of my life. My boss sprung for some jerk chicken, ox tail, rice and peas, fried plaintains, cabbage, and beef patties from this Jamaican restuarant nearby. Then 1 coworker's husband cooked up a bunch of jerk pork, another coworker brought in cornbread and fried chicken. I swear I can barely move hehe!

What a way to end a week, my brain will be functioning at 25% capacity for the next few hours.

Is Ox Tail REALLY the tail of an Ox?

We have Beaver Tails up here, but that's just the name of it - it's really just a pastry with icing. Are Ox Tails like that?

I can't imagine chewing on the tail of an Ox. That's the part of their body they use to swat flies off their ass!

Yes ox tail is really the tail of the ox. It is a bit fatty, and there are a lot of bones, but the meat is very tender and quite yummy.

It does sound kind of wierd, but it tastes quite good.
