Any specs on the noise? TT's $50 isn't too bad since it's an alternative to getting an entirely new PSU...

Well, the TT's got a single 40mm fan at ~5500RPM, so I'd say that would be about as loud as any motherboard chipset fan. Well, maybe a bit louder since it's in the 5.25 bay and therefore closer to your ears...

The price is pretty steep for what they are, especially the Fortron. Hell you can get 400W PSUs for $50 too, but oh well. There's probably just not enough competition yet.

They doubtless anticipated that argument. They just tout the fact that it fits in a free 5 1/4 bay, thus greatly simplifying the install, and avoiding case space issues of a normal PSU. They also understand the closer you can bring the end-user to instant gratification, the more likely you are to succeed ;) Instead of having to replace the PSU and reroute cables, adding one of these will provide the "quick fix" alternative. IME, the "quick fix" crowd predominates.

No point if you're smart enough to research a quality PSU as well as smart enough to know how to prioritize parts.
