It's Great! IT's an IBM! But can I do anything with it?

This seems like a great addition to my network, but can I use it...?

I have Win2k Advanced Server setup and have Terminal Services enabled to use it remotely(administration for a website etc) Could I use this machine in the same way?

I checked IBM, and they have a version of Turbo Linux.....so...will it work like in my dreams?

You may want to look into other terminals, IBM isn't the only company that makes those. WYSE makes Winterms, we used those at my work for a long time until we recently upgraded to Capio terminals.

The company told me I could do whatever i wanted with the old terminals. I think I will hang on to a few, see if I can set up a Terminal Server and play around with it a little. The rest I will attempt to sell. In fact I was about to post a message in the For Sale/Trade forums.

Here's a link to a pdf file on IBM's site which will tell you more than yuo wanted to know.

<< I am interested if I can get it to work and if so what programs it could run...? >>

It looks like it can connect to Windows Terminal Services, so you can probably get it to work. It's a terminal, it doesn't run any programs, all programs are run on the server it connects to - so any program that will run on your server can be used with the IBM thing. According to the document I linked, the terminal can support screen resolutions up to 1024x768, but color depth is limited to 256 colors at each resolution. Which is no big problem because Terminal Server only supports 256 colors.

Please don't take my word for all this, read the documentation before you buy it so you are sure that it can do what you need it to do.
