It's gonna get hot this weekend

And I have to work outside for 10 hrs. Plus my work truck has no working A/C and sometimes there isn't even any shade trees nearby when I take my lunch break...which oddly enough seems to always happen on very sunny days with 90F+ weather.

Now that's a whole lot of NOPE.

Forget that.

It's a dry heat. Like a blow torch dry.

Bunch of pussies here. We'll be hitting 120f in phoenix tomorrow (around 49c for those of you across the pond). I love the heat!

That's insane, crazy to think there's even a place on earth where it gets that hot. That comes up to about 50C, that's half way to the boiling point. 😱 To put it in perspective, when my furnace has been running for several hours, the main plenum reaches about 55C.

I'd hate to see what inside a car is like in those temps. You should try to see if you can use a seat belt as a soldering iron. 😀

Seriously though if it got that hot here I'd just want to use a chest freezer as a bed lol. I'd definitly have like 3 central AC units, in case one breaks. N+1 redundancy FTW.

That's ok, we will just laugh when the south gets a few feet of snow in 6 months from now and shuts down entire cities. 😛

Lol, don't need a few feet, Houston basically shuts down with a few inches of snow. Doesn't happen very often at all though.

The fun thing about this heat is it usually ends up causing some pretty crazy thunderstorms, and sure enough there is one announced this afternoon. My guess is we'll get it tomorrow some time. It does not really look cloudy enough for rain let alone a storm.

Haha true, probably most of the deep south. I remember when Atlanta closed down for like an inch. That was freaking hilarious.

Austin closes down when it gets below freezing and there is moisture. We simply don't have the equipment to deal with even the lightest amount of ice on the roads. If it ices over really bad, we have to bring equipment down from Oklahoma or north Texas to help.

76 all day here...it's 107 back at home. I have never seen it that high, probably a record.

At least it only "feels like" 101.

My A/C died this weekend. It was 101F out today. My house is currently 87 degrees 🙁

Last Monday morning the AC wasn't working at my parents house.
In the morning it wasn't too bad it is on the shaded side of the house.

By the time I figured out what was wrong and got back from the supply house it was afternoon. No shade, red brick in front of me and a white travel trailer to the rear and the sun beating down. Heat Index 101F ....it was a long afternoon.

Of course the replacement condenser fan motor was reversible and until I got it installed and the wiring ran and connected. I could not test rotation. It was running backward of course...Opened it back up and changed the taps.

How come if the chance of it being right is 50/50. I always get the one running backwards.

.

All this heat lead to huge wind storms, it cooled off now, but I'm at work and it's ridiculously busy. This is almost as bad as the Christmas winter storms we always get. Can't complain though, made a couple of hours of OT, had to come in earlier. 😛

Getting an estimate for Central AC tomorrow.

Equipment for what? 😛 They don't even bother doing anything here until it's at least a few inches.

It never fails that I need to mow the lawn when it's above 90

I'm soaking wet

Screw that noise, I'd just let that sucker grow. 😛

You know what's sad? A good part of it has already gone dormant so it's not growing that much, but the parts under the tress are shaded enough to not dry out as quick and still grow. So I'm only having to mow because of the shaded areas.

Down to 9C (48F) here. That always happens though, get a heat wave, then it generates a small storm, then down to single digits and lots of rain. The rain seems to be mostly holding though, just spurts here and there. Suppose to get hot again by end of week.

It's not the heat that gets to ya, it's the humidity. And my area has tons of it. There are times where it might be 90F at 9AM and my clothes are soaked, underwear sticking to my ass and it feels like it's hard to breath, more like feels that there isn't enough oxygen in the air and knowing that i have 8 1/2 more hours to go. At least if you're actually out in the sun and not just sitting in the shade with your lemonade like all the welfare folks up on the porches that I see most everywhere.

I bet those were the exact words from 2 guys that were hired last week and was supposed to show up Monday but didn't. Of course the only 2 guys all year that could actually pass a drug test. Go figure.

My boss says it's very common for people to ask for applications, then ask if we are hiring and when he says yes they are, they hand back the application...they just want to stay on welfare, kind of sad.

Fuck that...after 25 years in the NorCal heat...I now bitch when it gets hotter than 80F. (that's "Freedom degrees for youse Canucks) 😛

Chilling right now on the Oregon coast just outside of Pacific City...high today was about 65F...just about right. 😎
