It's gonna be a fun weekend

Would it be as much fun without the alcohol?

That looks like a headache and a stomach bug well on the way.

It would be fun, but not as much fun.
We are going to be a big crowd.
We don't get roaring drunk.
We enjoy our whisky (and whiskey) like adults, we don't gulp it down.

Would much love to try that Tomintoul Reserve 31. My wife bought me this last week, very tasty....as a matter of fact, gonna have a nip now.

The word "fun" seems like an odd choice to describe the pleasures of imbibing fine whiskeys... but hey, have fun.

Hard to find a headache on good stuff.

Nah...it's in there...somewhere around the bottom of the bottle...and you have to drink the whole thing to get to it.

I found quite a few headaches at the bottom of a bottle in my youth.

The only way to get a hangover from scotch is by drinking it wrong. If that happens, pour the rest down the drain (or the mouth of a particularly dapper looking hobo) and pick up a handle of bathtub gin and some 40s of Mickey's; you aren't ready for a gentleman's drink.

But I will say, the wording on this is a bit odd. "It's gonna be a fun weekend" sounds like something a frat boy posts with a picture of a case of Aftershock and 4 liters of cough syrup. The tone doesn't fit the subject of fine scotch. Nonetheless, I will agree that looks like a fun weekend. I won't lie, I'm a little jealous. Maybe I'll pick up some Aftershock and cough syrup...

LOL. Aftershock. Now there's a blast from the past. They still make that stuff?

I lol'd

Also, were headaches even invented back when you were young?

Trader Joe's has some nice 23 yo single malt for the holidays you might enjoy. Added it to my collection last night and really enjoyed it.

Nice. The Tomintoul 31 was pretty good, but certainly did not taste like a $300-$400 bottle. Very light. I was not blown away. But on the subject of Glenrothes, someone brought a bottle of Gordon & Macphail's Genrothes 42. That has to be the best sip of scotch I've ever had. A little cheaper was the Glenmorangie Signet. Fantastic.
