Its gonna be 80 today

54 here in Michigan right now...but I'll be in Jamaica in 2 days, then Houston, Dallas, and New Orleans...so I'll get plenty of warm weather. 😛

I wish it was 54 today. It's already 78 freedom degrees in my apartment right now. My landlord was supposed to install a new air conditioner this past weekend weekend but he didn't show up. 🙁

Aren't they required once it his 72 freedom degrees?

13 C here, which is right about 55 freedom.

They're predicting near 90 for here today...Daily temp records have already been broken around the region...and it's not even 1 PM yet.

Once it gets 65F and sunny I normally need to use the air. I live upstairs in a brick building surrounded by parking lots. My apartment is also on the south side of the building. The bad thing is this place has casement windows so I can't put a fan in the windows. There is also no wind in the evenings so opening the windows doesn't help and the cold air doesn't come in until around 2 a.m.

Thankfully the weather predictors got it wrong here today. It DID get into the mid-80's...which was hot enough to keep me inside instead of out working in my garden...but it's supposed to cool off by tomorrow...and maybe even a bit of rain later in the week.

Wow that's hot. And it's only May.

I do recall a heat wave several years back in May though. I was unequipped, no AC. Sucked. Try buying an AC unit during a heat wave. They're sold out everywhere.

Was 30 last night. Then 65 during the day. Now it's going to be in the 70's in the upcoming days.

One time it was around 75 and then the next day it snowed!

That's a Fahrenheit for you lesser kind. :colbert:

Hail.

Marble sized hail.

What in the fuck is going on with mother nature?
Is she ticked?

did you get the golfball-to-baseball-sized hail yesterday?

we did. it sucked. For about 3 mintues, there was a complete white-out, horizontal blowing wall of hail smashing everything. I thought the house was going to be destroyed.

Lost power for about 1 hour from 10-11 (well after the hail, but there were tons of trees down and it looked like crews were already out before our power went out)

in rockville i had ping-pong ball sized hail, maybe a little bigger, for like 2-3 minutes. i saw a few big pieces of hail on my back patio. then afer it stopped, i saw those had melted, but there were some in the grass still, and i grabbed a few and they were like pingpong ball sized. they may have been bigger when they came down. i've never really seen hail, it's kinda cool though how it's all jagged.

i went to check my car after and thankfully i had no damage, at least that i could see.

going to be down in florida later this week so i'll miss the "cold" weather we're supposed to be getting thursday.

Today: Hot as fuck
Tomorrow: Hot as fuck
Thursday: Hot as fuck

And so on until a 3 day reprieve around mid-December. Then see above.

Update:

It looks like some parts of our various trees fell off, and I think some of that happened only later this morning. One branch fell into the neighbor's yard and seems to have taken off the very top part of one of their fence slats. The rear part of the fence which had been sagging (planned project for the next month or two) has now broken off the post and is fully sagging into the rear neighbor's yard. I couldn't really deal with that stuff as I had to run off to work. Going to take a half day and run to Home Depot on the way back because I need some plastic and/or a tarp for a temporary solution to the shed--a largish branch fell directly onto the roof which is now broken and now needs to be replaced. It is supposed to rain all week.

One of the branches took out a member of the backyard squirrel family. I consider this a win, GF considers it a tragedy, cat is probably a bit non-plussed only in the sense that she was hoping to do the deed herself. Wrapped the carcass in a grocery bag and tossed into the trash--luckily, that pickup is tomorrow morning.
