Anybody ever done any business with this company? JDR Computer Products

I haven't seen this card for any cheaper than 195.00 anywhere.

**edit**: just checked reselleratings.com and they haven't received a rating since 2001. According to the site, they have been in business for 23 years. I'm thinking this deal is to good to be true. I've emailed the sales rep to find out if this is indeed an authentic ATI Radeon 9500 Pro.

Don't you guys EVER do a search before posting a deal?

Look here.

Um that's a completely different deal. Not everyone can find this card at bestbuy.
Um, it's the same card only cheaper, posted in this very forum only 2 days ago. Duh!

I bet you guys think your the first person to discover electricity every time you turn the light on.

What is completely different about it? It's the same card and the BB deal is still ongoing. Are you saying that if he had searched and read the other thread he still would have posted this one? He said:

That's like me standing facing you with my eyes shut and saying "I can't see you anywhere". It's almost like the last 3 million years of human evolution hasn't happened.

OK I could place an order over the internet or go to best buy and maybe (and I mean maybe) find one at a cheaper price. I guess you flip the switch and nothing at all comes on huh?

Uh, it's a different vendor and less of a crapshoot than "you might be able to find it on clearance at Best Buy"? Just because you don't like this deal doesn't mean nobody else does. :disgust:

Not every BB has the same deal. That's the difference.

didn't mean to get everyone so worked up. BTW, I called the 2 local BB around here and neither one had the card. I'm about 40 west of Ft. Worth, TX.

JDR Microdevice really has been around for that long. I was in So. Cal. in the late seventies and I was aware of them. I even think they had stores in So. Cal. They had cool monthly catalogs of electronic components and computer parts. I haven't heard much about them since internet became common place and other online vendors multiplied.

i live close to 4 different best buys...and none of them carry this card.
so how is it a better deal if i cant get the card from best buy?

(i mean sure, i could drive around the united states going to every best buy and aksing for the card....but by the time i find one...i dont think it was worth the hassle to even get one in the first place)

I believe high-end video cards are a complete waste of money BUT if I wanted one here's what I would do...

I'd go to a BB store at a non-hectic time and chat with a sales person. I'd ask them to look up their inventory and tell me if any store in 50 miles had one in stock. I wouldn't talk price or open box or anything like that. Just, is there one available? I'd take a list of all availabilities and I would drive to each one immediately until I got one. (I have done this for other items in the past). What I wouldn't do is to drive around on the off-chance of finding a BB with it in stock, NOR would I phone BB. BB sales people have no time for phone-ins.

If I didn't find one, what I would do next is to.... wait. I've seen it a hundred times. If BB have dropped the price on something to clear ir from their inventory, then others will follow soon, if they haven't done so already. Why jump in and buy something just as the price is starting to fall? Let it fall!

An old bull and a young bull were at the top of a hill overlooking a herd of cows. The young bull says "hey, let's run down and shag one". The old bull looked at him thru a squinted eye and said "Son, let's walk down and shag them all".
