Well we did'nt do reprisal attacks before. Dropping bombs and shooting into homes indiscriminatly will not "win the hearts and minds" of the Iraqis. IMO this war of "will and resolve" is more like "willfully obstinate" occupation of an increasingly agressive Iraqi public. They said attacks number in the 30's a day now vs. single digits just a month ago. Goes back to something I've always belived "the harder you push.. the harder I'll shove" until it's total chaos.

It was one of the worlds cultural showplaces.

After Gulf -1 Saddam drained the Southern Swamps (not the right term) but it was a
estuary for birds, and much wildlife, and it became a dessert between DoucheBag and Kuwait.

If the land had not been drained the tanks could have never made it North so fast as
tanks do not operate well in 8 top 10 feet of water and mud.

There is little hope for that ecosystem to recover even in a hundred years.
