I'll take a dreary "gray day" over sunny and hot, anyday! A lot of people seem to be more upbeat when it's bright and sunny, but I feel more "warm & cozy" when it's overcast and cool. I don't see what the attraction to the sun and heat is. You climb in your car, and it's a damn sauna. You do the slightest chore outside, and you're soaked in sweat. You have to wear sunglasses, or squint the whole day. Not to mention getting sunburned, which is always a plus. IMO, summer can SUCK IT!

Damn global cooling :moon:
"scientists" actually predict that parts of the world will get cooler during 'global warming.' Think of it more as a climate shift in which the average world temp gets higher...even though it gets cooler is some places.

What is happening is that we are seeing more extremes in weather. Since our scientists are really just babies when trying to understand how the earth's weather works, it is kind of unfair to expect them to have all the answers. If you study oceanography, meteorology, and other related subjects, you'll begin to understand that we don't really know enough to say either way what is going on.

However, us old people can look back and see some real changes, no matter how subtle. Example: Growing up, the jacaranda tree was an abundant seasonal sight where I live. About 25 years ago, they started to die off. Now they are only found south of here.

Consider extinctions, frog counts, and other ways to take the pulse of the earth. If you do, and do so honestly, you have to admit that things are changing rapidly. Unless of course you feel safer in denial. :p
