After only five months, my ThinkPad finally arrived today. It was almost as good a welcome home present as the 6-8 inches of snow were. Woke up this morning and helped my dad shovel the driveway, and generally had a great time "bonding" with him again. About a half-hour later, dad went out to leave for a meeting but he came right back in, saying that there was a box for me from IBM. The thing must have just fallen out of the sky, it wasn't there when we were shoveling, and we should have heard the UPS guy knock, but the ThinkPad just silently and mysteriously appeared on the doorstep. This has been my week, woke up Wed., heard that Gore's last challenge in court had failed and more importantly found that my exam was less difficult that I had anticipated. Drove home through the snowstorm that tore through the midwest without putting a wheel wrong. I really hope this is the start of a great week. I can't wait to run S.A.N.D.R.A. on this thing. 🙂

Well, I have gotten myself into at least a four year relationship with this machine. I ought to have mentioned that for the duration of my undergraduate studies this will be my only computer, so no matter how it looks now, it will be a dog by the time I finally am able to upgrade again.
