i dont know the mass effect 2 price doesnt seem like that good a of a deal...

for 6 dollars more....

And how is $6 more better? Obviously, once the deal is over and you don't want to pay extra for the convenience of Steam (IMO), then yeah, you can find better prices for your games 🙂 Right now it's a great deal imo.

Also, I paid just under 40€ for ME2CE + ME1. A standard DVD version of ME2 at the cheapest shop is more than the two games combined now 😛 After the deal is over, the price will be the same retail/digital. Not in the US btw 🙂

Just sayin its really not a hott deal and there are people out there that would pay the extra $6 to get the retail version

6 dollars more for some paper, plastic, and waste that will just pile up unless I throw it away?

It's not the "inconvenience" of having to deal with needless trash, it's the fact that it is something that I don't need--that I pay more to throw away some trash.

I didn't always think this way (I still like shiny boxes with colorful art and the smell of new manuals and all of that), but I've really come to appreciate the ability to avoid such waste and pay less for that privilege. To me, it's an added benefit that reduces physical cost as well as other somewhat intangible costs (reduction of waste--I move a lot, so I tend to think about these things on a regular basis, haha).

I'd rather not have retail. I bought the game last month for $30 on Amazon and used a $10 off coupon from another promotion to get it for $20, but I would have gotten the steam version had they had this deal at the time.

Bought ME1 for $5. New to Steam but I can see these deals will be the death of me LOL. Didn't bite on ME 2 though.

It's at $5? I think I'm going to grab it, not that I need another game to play. I play too many video games and have more Steam games then I can play anyway. Steam and their stupid sales.

Wow, I don't know what I was thinking. I guess this is what I get for buying a game at 2AM. I bought Dead Space, not Mass Effect.

Oh well, I'll have to play both I guess.

I picked up ME earlier this year when it was $5. I still am not done with it, so will hold out until ME2 is in the 5-$10 range.

WTF. I picked up Mass Effect 1 (I have it for 360, but the frame rate is so horrendously awful on the 360 version of ME1 that it's almost unplayable after playing the much more optimized ME2), but it keeps crashing every time I try to load it. It thinks for a minute, and then just pops up and says the application has failed or something. Grrr...

make sure you have "administrator mode" enabled for Steam or whatever it's called if you have Vista/Win 7 running.

need this specifically for ME1 and a few other Steam downloads.

Picked up ME1 but not ME2, figured I'll wait until it's down in the $15 range. Nice thing about being so far behind in games is that things are super cheap now.
