Obviously, they are on different carriers. I get an employee discount on both.

How do you guys feel about these phones?

In the area I use it Verizon>Sprint by a wide margin no contest had to be the Dare so far it has meet my expectations. Depending on where you need to use it YMMV.

I would get the LG Dare but honestly Id pick the voyager over the Dare.. but since u want touch go with the Dara

i got a dare and i really like it. choose whichever company has the best signal, imo.

I think in Omaha here, Verizon definitely has a better signal. A friend of mine has the Voyager and he likes it a lot.

Sprint is a clusterfuck of a company but SERO is not a bad deal. It's the only reason I'm with them.

Picked up a Dare for my wife. She loves it. The on-screen keyboard operates well and it's pretty slick how it shifts depending on context and orientation of the phone.

I purchased the Dare this week with my two year upgrade discount. I'm really enjoying it....the web browser is very functional, the screen colorful and can be seen in just about any light. I wanted to stick with Verizon since the other carriers that I've tried (TMobile, Cingular, ATT) have all had problems but Verizon's been solid.

I have the Instinct... a few things I don't like about it...

No tethered modem support, although people have gotten it to work it's not support by Sprint and you risk violating the TOS and having your contract terminated.

Doesn't even include an application to read text documents, let alone word documents, excel, pdf, etc.

The camera is pretty bad unless you're in daylight. If you email pictures to someone, it emails links to the pictures on sprint's website... not the actual .jpg.

The web browser is in dire need of improvement... you can browse most pages, but you'll find that a lot of links don't work. For example, I can browse AT's forums and even post... but if I want to reply to or quote a post in the middle of a thread, the Reply, Quote, Top, Bottom links don't work. Have to use the ones in the original post for it to work.

There's no file browser for the memory card.

There are still no useful applications available for it, including Instant Messaging.


The reason I got it was that Sprint's Everything Plan is superior to other companies. 450 anytime minutes, everything else is unlimited... Nights/Weekends, Text, Data, GPS Navigation, etc. for $70 month. The closest I could find was a plan from Verizon for $85/mo I believe.

If Sprint would add official tethered modem support I'd be ecstatic.

FYI... I followed the guide to enable PAM on the Instanct and it worked. However, I chatted online with a Sprint representative and after a very long conversation explaining that even though it wasn't supported, it works... the guy told me it was not permitted. So in the interest of keeping my account in good standing, I will refrain from using the feature.

I would choose the iPhone.

That being said, Sprint really really sucks, so I'd go with the Dare.
