It's DO or DIE time for OGR-25

To try and help spark some interest in OGR, I've adapted the RC5 PHP (Real Time Daily Stats) to OGR format. Anyone wanting to take advantage of it, just point your client to flush to jator.2y.net and you get instant updates for the day. 😉

Here's the stats page.

Chalk up a P3-600 onto TA OGR also, made a last minute switch from GF to OGR cracking for TWTA of course (Ray is getting old and I'm sure those feelings of being alone are creeping in 😛).

I've now got my Athlon 735, Cel2 900, Cel 450a, and PII 300 all running OGR. Must say, you have to be patient with OGR, stubs take forever!!!

Hehe, Vss, there is nothing sadder than an old, lonely geezer! Thanks for throwing in with TWTA on OGR! 😀

I've been trying to convince SAK to crack under the TWTA banner in OGR, but I think he's too addicted to his stats! 😉😉

This deserves a bump, especially now that the end is near!

Get those computers counting rulers folks!

Qythyx,

Yeah, that graph and the contradition that it raises versus what bovine said in his plan has certainly been a topic of discussion around here. Some folks believe that they have been issuing pass-2 of OGR-25 and some do not. Quite frankly, I can't get a clear idea either way.

That's why I decided to email bovine and ask him for a clarification on the point. I sent him an email on Nov21 and I've still not received a reply to it. :disgust: Not that I really expected one. I don't want to sound too cynical or anything, but I don't know why the guys at D.Net even bother to publish their email addresses. In the 1.5 years that I've been participating, I've never had any of my emails even garner a simple "I got your mail" acknowledgment. :| Not that I've sent a ton of 'em, perhaps 5-6 or so.

Perhaps a TeAm member that is "important" enough to be noticed by the elite of D.Net in their "ivory tower" could send an email and get us an answer on the question of whether or not OGR-25 pass2 stubs are being or have been issued.

I've set a few of my machines from RC5 to OGR. I would start OGR on 3-4 Linux SMP boxes, except the core sucks when compared to the Win32 core. 🙁

Brad..

Brad-

Slip over to Dnet's ftp site and grab the Linux 462 client. For whatever reason it is about 10% faster than the 463b Linux client.

Kilowatt tried the 464g Linux client but had some networking issues. The 462 is the best bet for Linux and OGR, AND is not too old to have that that old OGR bug that we saw months ago.

I would like to apologize now (inserting foot into mouth). 🙂 I just ran a few OGR benchmarks on the 463 (the one I was using), 462, and the new 464d Linux-ELF client's. 462 is slow when compared to the 464d client!!

463 = 2,406,116.57 nodes/sec
462 = 2,941,409.62 nodes/sec
464d = 3,570,144 nodes/sec

WOW! Team AnandTech OGR just recieved 2.933GHz of power and I'm going to see what else I can throw at it. 🙂

NOTE!: This huge boost is ONLY in the Linux client. The 464g Win32 clients instead show a decrease in speed. So if you are running a Linux box with Intel CPU's, give the new client a try.

Brad..

I will add a k6-2 400 to ogr work. And any and dedicate a duron 650 to it has well.

oje question though, do i need to join TA for ogr has well? Or is just being in rc5 good enough?

Whoa, Brad

Looks like you found a winner there.

Keep on the look-out for networking issues. The ones that I have seen/heard of in the Windows and Linux 464 betas were firewall/NAT issues and loss of network configuration in Linux. KW had the latter problem, but I don't know which client version or Linux build he was using.

Thanx for the help in OGR everyone!
