If you go look at the party platform and the policies they have attempted to/are attempting to enact you'll see they are extremely popular with most Americans, often topping 70% support. If that's not centrist, what is?

There is a major difference between parties in this area and has been since 1980. Liberals will tax and spend, you know pay for the things they want to do. Conservatives will cut taxes and spend even more, which is really racking up the credit card debt.
