That is the case at my university. We have a college of arts, college of science, college of engineering and probably others I don't know about.
Hmm. We have faculties. Faculty of Arts, Science, Engineering, Medical & Health Sciences, etc.

well basically when u attend a U, you pay more and there is no job placement hookups... college... sometimes a wise choice. learn a TRADE

but U is prestigious and hoity toity...

A college is a division within a university. For example, within the University of Pittsburgh there exist (among others) the College of Business Administration, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Engineering.
