It's Brownie time!

I made these and give the recipe a solid "meh".

Texture is good, definitely on the dense and fudgy side which I prefer in brownies, but the flavor was underwhelming and they were a little too sweet for my palate. I'm going to ramp up the chocolate to 5 ounces next time, that will cut down the sweetness and give it more chocolate oomph.

Tried this recipe with some ABV I had saved up. Very good, not my favorite brownies. But fairly simple recipe so no complaints.

I usually bump the coco to 4oz and sometimes put some Ande's mint bits on top, I used to make my own but now you can buy them pre-chunked in the bakery aisle..

Many times. The frosting is great but not really necessary. I add walnuts sometimes too.

Shens, "lacking" is about as generic description as it gets and if you found it "lacking" and your recipe "better" why would you bother to make them "many times" when you had a different, better recipe in hand??.

I followed your suggestion and instead of using 3 oz of bakers chocolate, I used an entire 4 oz bar that I had on hand. The result was outstanding. Dense and fudgy with good amount of chocolate flavor. If making good brownies is this easy, who needs the box mix?
