I think he has had threads about his alcoholism in the past.

I might've posted in them, who knows. Having a cousin who is an alcoholic, and not getting help, I just find it sad what it can do to lives.

im saving for rehab, does that help? they want $10k.

are you getting smug with me for what?... giving a damn?

10K, that's crap. how the hell can anyone afford to get clean?

If someone has to post this for you I will be very ticked. $10k is nothing compared to the alternative. Though the alternative is cheaper in the long run I suppose.

Sounds like a good night.

Good luck on your path to sobriety. It's a long a bumpy one.

Been there.

The thing is though, I dont know many hard drinkers that throw up often, what made you drink more than you usually do?

Pardon me while I get on my soap box.

Rehab is great for detoxing. Coming off a binge can be very dangerous. In the old days, people were admitted into hospitals and sanitariums to deal with them. Doctors and psychiatrists now basically refuse to deal with alcoholics because we are truly helpless. I have been through 3 outpatient rehab centers. They taught me everything there is to know about alcohol, the effects of long term use and how a normal person should drink. The only problem is that they didn't teach me how to live sober. Alcoholics don't drink because we want to, we drink because we can't deal with life on sober terms.

Make fun of me all you want, but I haven't had the need to take a drink in 261 days. That is only by the grace of God. I found a program that taught me how to live sober and actually enjoy life. I still have plenty of hardships but its nothing that I can't get through with the help of my Higher Power.

The program that gave me this great gift is free. They ask me for a dollar when I go to meetings but if I don't have it, its not a problem at all. Money isn't what you need JohnCU. IMHO all you need to do is want to be sober more than you want to drink. Once you have that, you will own your life again. The gift of desperation was the greatest gift God ever gave me.

I will always be here for you bro. I just wish you would give me the chance to help you. I don't want to see you have to go through half the shit I did...lose the things I lost. I would honestly give anything to help you from not having to hit that kind of bottom.

Be safe my friend.

Does your health insurance possibly cover anything? At least would cover counseling?

Rudeguy, give JohnCu a call:

843-421-1070 if someone will call JohnCu

I called him and he is OK, just really drunk.

Good to hear that.

Most don't.

Two people I love went through this, one id dead because of it. The other one is close to it.

Its a shame rehab isn't covered and imho it should be.
