It's amazing how attached to sports heros people can be. I've never been a nascar fan myself, but I had a buddy who was a wicked Dale fan. We were over in Paris on the Eiffle tower and he has just called his girlfriend to see how the race went, and he got the news... ruined the rest of the guys trip...

Anyways, Earnhart wouldn't want you to be sad for him, he knew the dangers of his job and accepted them... he'll be missed though

I remember when I was riding home and turned on the radio to find out how the race went, and they were saying he was unconcious. Five minutes later they said he'd died :(

Yeah, those dangers of the job. I guess it's risky when you don't buckle up right.

Its actually a sign that one's own life is so depressing they sort of 'live' through someone else. I think celebrities should be asking for MY autograph, I (and a few other million people) pay the mortgage on their mansion when I go see one of their stupid movies or events. I've met two dozen major celebs and never once have I asked for their autograph.

Everyone else was like "Holy SH_TSKI do you know who that is?" and I said "Yep, someone whose sh-t stinks like anyone else's."

Oh, yeah, Dale Earnhardt. What a shame that he died having done to him what he made an art of - bumping people out of the way. Which of course means he risked the lives of dozens of drivers to win. What happened to him could have happened to any of the drivers he did the same thing to dozens of times.

Good riddance to bad hair style redneck rubbish.

tcsenter,

i agree with the autograph thing, and celebrity worship in general. i would never lower myself by asking for an autograph. and i'm sure more than one celeb appreciates that, too. they probably hate being bothered with goofy fans asking for autographs.

i think calling dale "redneck rubbish" is just childish on your part.

At one time, I was a porter at an upscale hotel which was and still is a popular place for celebs to stay when they're in town (athletes, actors, politicians, musicians, etc.). I was frequently the 'go-fer' (concierge) for VIPs.

Well, maybe...
