What Kuz is trying to say here is that u dont pay $79.94 for it being shipped. You pay $119.94 for it being shipped to your house THEN you get a $40 rebate. So the title of this thread should read $79.94 AR shipped.

judging from the number of "quiet" coolers recently introduced and a growing horde of users sick of noisy computers, i think not. I wonder if the people who still have those loud delta monsters have been skewing the opinions on drive-noise in general: I've heard the maxtor 740X series, ball-bearing as well as fluid-bearing, described as 'quiet' but even with music playing i can hear it's whine, which is just as bad as the DiamondMax40 it replaced.

Hopefully the drive makers will get wise with their next generation and make all their models with quiet features - it's ridiculous that this level of noise is accepted as normal.

My system has been obselete for quite some time n and I feel like totally revamping it.. does anyone know any really good computer deals out there?? Budget's about 1000...not including monitor...or any external peripherals..

Maxtor HDD-----> got this deal the last time... it's super great!
