I bought this cooler for a Socket754 system and it is a VAST improvement over 754 AMD coolers. Not sure about 939/M2. If your cooler already has heat pipes, there may be little improvement in temperatures, but it'll probably be quieter.

I'm mainly looking for quiet, as my stock HSF is becoming increasingly noisy with age. But cooler is better, means I can overclock some more. :)

In for one. I get the feeling we're going to see Opteron prices drop like crazy. I need something to mate with it.

yup.... I got this same cooler, with my new opteron 144 chip.... currently priming for over 2 hours @ 3.1ghz 1.392 vcore.

Already primed it at same vcore for almost 20hours for 3ghz.

38c load overnight with these settings.

I have this coller and am happy with it. There are other coolers that perform better, but this one is inexpensive and pretty quiet. I bought this cooler, along with the $99 Athlon 3400+ and motherboard combo at NewEgg. I can overclock to 2.7 Ghz, but run my system at 2.6 Ghz. Great deal for a total cost of $125.

I also like how this unit blows hot air toward the airholes at the bacl of the case.

I also have the Artic Freezer 64 Pro & Opteron 144 with exact same stepping. I can only run prime95 at about 2.45Ghz before it fail the test. My voltage level flectuates between 1.42-1.45 according to CPU-Z. My 144 fails small-FFTs test in Prime95 to setting speed > 2.45Ghz.

What case, power supply, and motherboard do you have? That's one hell of jump.

Nice! That is some serious overclock at very low voltage.

this thing is super quiet compared to my stock 754 cooler. the only downside is the size but it cools great and is quiet
