Will likely head to the Seattle event. Hoping it's not another "freeze your nuts off with 2000 people" debacle again.

Hahaha. Yes, it will be, but this time in packed-to-the-fricking-rafters-fremont.

If you thought the Westlake Center giveaway was bad, try packing 5k people into a little under a half-block, and see what happens.

Hahaha, my thoughts exactly!

You can add 22 more people to the Northern VA (DC) list. I just registered and so did 21 other of my friends. Maybe more when I see more online. Spread the love. =)

Northern Virginia in Vienna. Gonna try my damnedest to make it - when the hell do the things START? Also, for other DC Metro area ATers, could they have PICKED a worse spot? All the malls are deserted in the area for obvious reasons, and there ARE safer nightclubs than ones around the damn NAVY YARD.

All Events start at 8:30 PM. This one is for the night-owls.

I will be at the Raleigh NC event - hope to see some of you there as well. This system-building competition looks like it will be interesting, too bad I can't participate :(

I soooo wanted to go to one of those last year! The nearest one to me is 3 hours away in Atlanta. Really don't like driving to that area either I can tell ya :(

I did email my sister in Las Vegas though. She has amazing luck at getting picked for stuff. She once went to a big Andy Kaufman performance and got onstage to wrestle him. She even had him pinned, but she let him go before the count was up because the audience was going so wild she thought she'd won, lol.

looking at last year's event videos.... looks like alot of people got those white boxes
it also says that at last year's first event in SF, 350 hopefuls showed up and 200 left with a processor

Hey, I was at that S.F. promotion, it was the first one they did and they really did kind of a half assed job putting it together. Hopefully this will be done better than that one. And there were about 350 people at that promotion, and no kidding it was an uber nerd fest (god knows my linux sucks shirt helped me fit in j/k.) I was pissed cause I didn't win, I showed up to damn thing at 6:00am god the odds were better than 1 in 2. But I would warn you guys that at this promotion they were supposed to give away 200 unit but at the S.F. event and they only gave away 186 ( I kept a tally) and that really pissed me considering that I hadn't won. They had a van full of cpu's and they stopped the giveaway because it seemed that they just wanted to leave. So if you go to this give away I'd keep a eye out to make sure they actually give away what they say they will. Yea, you can tell by my tone that I was pissed by the experience. I like how the promotion is set in place to show the true about the "mhz myth" and they are preaching to hardcore techie who already know about it. So if you go and lose, you'll end up being really annoyed cause you show up at some place at 6am only listen to annoying people screaming about the "mhz myth"

Woohoo! Its back! Both myself and my girlfriend won last year and they gave us whatever was the newest at the time( I got an 1800+ and she got a 2000+) I'm hoping they give out 2400's this time! Too bad I live in lowly Rochester where noone ever comes except microsoft.

8:30 at night... excellent timing.

Only giving away 50 processors kind of sucks, they gave away 200 last year in Philly and I didn't win. I'll bring reinforcements. :D

THey were hesitant because they never planned to give away 200 items. It was supposed to be 30-ish items just like the other cities but they made a numerical mistake somewhere and brought more than they thought they'd give.
