Depending on my class schedule I'm going to try to make the Norther Virginia stop. Although, I dont know why they chose "Nation", because that place is smack in the middle of DC's worst ghetto. :Q Interesting place for a CPU giveaway, but whatever!😀

Who's taking bets for the prize? I've got 5 on an NF2 board, non-integrated graphics, AXP 2800+, crappy HSF, and maybe even some PC2700?

dang, no cities close enough to me again this year.. and the online part got worse too. last year we could register for prizes online once a day. now it is just once - period. 🙁

oh well, still haven't spent all of the $50 gift card I won last year! 😀

I'm in for Chicago, went last year and didn't win anything but it was fun.

I don't think I understand.....

So, AMD shows up with a bunch of contests/events, and if I win one of them I get a CPU? How long does it run (per day), and how long must I be there to be eligible for prizes? I've got some time constraints to work around (job, ya know).

Why did people show up at 4AM? If it's random drawing, then it seems like you may as well wait until a more reasonable hour?

Someone please explain, thanks

Last year you showed up and got in line to get a ticket stub, at some of the events they ran out of tickets so people started getting to the events early enough to make sure they got a ticket.

signed up for the SD one.
its first hopefully its as empty as the SF one was last year... my friend jesse made off with an XP1600+ (i think) and some mobo.

i dont see any mention of times, i hope its either really early in the morning like last year, or in the evening.

good luck to everyone going, cept to the people goin to the SD one, that ones all me ; ) im thinkin i can put a box together in like 2 minutes...

sign me up for san diego and city of industry...
i better not get a fat speeding ticket like i did last time. 1 mug, 1 tshirt, nothing else

I was lucky and won in Philly last year. In fact, the 1800+ CPU is processing this very message. I can't make it this time around. I hope you all have fun. 🙂

Well, I stood outside in the rain for 2 hours last year at the Palace of Auburn Hills and didn't get squat. Went to work and people were like, "Why are your pants all wet?". Hmmm, Ferndale in the dark...they should have made it on Halloween cuz that's pretty scary. 11/14 is the day after my B-day, so maybe I'll be luckier this year...

Thanks for the post, can't wait for the event this year I did get lucky at the Palace last year so the "wet pants" questions were worth it.
I can think of worse places than Ferndale East light guard armory in Hockeytown!

See all you MI people there, I'll be the one smiling from ear to ear!
😀

Not quite smack in the middle. It's on Half, meaning right near South Cap. which is the border between SW and SE. I wouldn't say that the edge of SE is "smack in the middle." You'd have to travel many blocks more to be smack in the middle of SE. 🙂

So has AMD started hiring new people yet (entry-level positions), or are they still in a slump? Everytime I go to their employment office, all they ever have are positions requiring massive years of past experience.

P.S.
I'll be at Austin.
