It's baaaaack...

<< Forgive me, repost police, if this is a repost, but I searched and searched, and couldn't find any threads on this. 🙂 >>

Oh my gosh! Is it really coming back?

They are looking at pimping it in the 35k price range. Too rich for my blood. Maybe if I won the lotto - it's be a sweet roadtripping machine, but my g/f and I already have one Bus to take care of (1976 - needs some work, though).

I dunno if its actually gonna come back anytime soon... Thats been up on the vw site for over a year now (sorry, dont take this as thread crapping, just adding some info 🙂)

Actually, the site does look different.... maybe it is??

<< What? The stupidly vague thread title? Yeah i hate that too... >>

Listen, asshat. If you, in your deluded self-righteous sense of mind, think that you are deserving of more than a "stupidly vague thread title," you are wrong. If you have nothing of worth to contribute to these forums - and, as this post indicates, you may not - I highly suggest you take your act elsewhere. I didn't tell you to click the thread. Rather, the whole point of my vague thread title was to attract attention; if you were lured in to the thread, and found yourself uninterested in the topic matter, better just to leave than to crap.

To summarize (since I doubt those of your caliber want to read entire paragraphs):

Do I post in your toilet? No? Then don't crap in my thread.

Stupid ass-clowns. :|

<< ^^^^ That's just the kind of reaction he was looking for. He's laughing at you now pal. >>

Anyone who knows me knows it was in jest. If he doesn't, that's his loss. 🙂

Nothing's "back". This 'VW Bus' is gonna be nothing like the old one. Remote control doors? :disgust:
What happened to affordable, inexpensive cars for everyone. That's what VW was about back then.

... great fun... in all seriousness, lets make everyones life a little easier and make the thread titles a bit more specific... I enjoy perusing these forums and reading about new info, but these vague titles make it hard to efficiently spend time... relax, put on a blue hat, and listen to some enya... its gonna be ok

<< What happened to affordable, inexpensive cars for everyone. That's what VW was about back then. >>

Yeah, if you consider having a car that breaks down every few months to be inexpensive. 🙂 My g/f has one, and we love it, but damn that thing is unreliable. 😛

I'll be perfectly honest here. It is really of no importance to me, whatsoever, what makes life easier for you; the job of a writer - in essence, when attempting to write with some degree of sensationalism - is to draw readers into a topic which they might, elsewise, not have read or participated in.

If you are so concerned about efficiently spending time, wouldn't it make more sense just to read thread titles that appear to have relevant information to you, thereby bypassing such vague, unimportant titles as this one?

Rob

I think it's really cool.

The old Type 1 and 2 engines aren't unreliable. They're just fragile; you have to know how to take care of an air-cooled engine.

compuwiz1,

<< 'spose these are coming back too? >>

Hell Yeah! 😉 Only it'll probably be a little more like.. this..

<< The old Type 1 and 2 engines aren't unreliable. >>

It's not the engine that has been a problem, actually. The engine has worked like a charm. Part of it could be luck of the draw, but her (my g/f's) previous car (a 76 VW Squareback) had lots of problems as well. Her bus has had problems with the alternator, the starter, the electrical connections on the right side of the car (???), and a few other miscellaneous weird problems - mostly related to the electrical system.

Rob

Ahh.. Well, What do you expect from a 26 year old car? It probably depends on the climate the car is in, but the plastic insulation on wires eventually starts to rott. Kinda sucks...

ahhhhhhhhh good, i thought you were going to say that All Your Base Are Belong To Us is back.. this is a relief. 🙂 😀

<< Well, What do you expect from a 26 year old car? >>

Yeah, I agree to some extent - however, there are a few different types of 26 year old cars I've driven without the same slew of problems. Maybe it has to do more with how they've been treated over time - I can't speak for any of them, since I wasn't the first owner, but as much as I love Kate's VW, I wouldn't trust it as far as I could throw it. 🙂
