It's Amazing To Me Just How Bad New TV Shows Are Today

NBC has got to be kidding me!! Their new show (kind of based off the movie which is in my top 5 all time favorites) Friday night Lights is absolutely horrible. I mean it is like a comedy it is so bad. Bad acting, bad script, bad everything If you have seen the YouTube trailer you will know what I mean immediately.

And, I tried watching that new fangled Lost show last night since everyone else was going to, man what utter crap. People can actually watch this and be entertained? Or, take the show 24 for example, now I am one that has no problem with suspending reality, as long as it makes sense in the stupid plot. 24 is just senseless action (that really isn't that good, nor is it realistic), and quite frankly it is to unrealistic for me.

Yeah as you can see I am a bit upset that FNL sucks...

Sure everyone says the show is awesome and is genious, then it dies out just like all those other crap shows. Survivor anyone? Stations want to make a quick buck, and sadly viewers give it to them.

EDIT: http://youtube.com/watch?v=7gq2aoXFrGY

Yeah it's that bad.

I agree. FNL sucked royal ass.

It was just all too predictable. The same crap has already been done in other movies and television series. Also, I'm not sure what they were trying to accomplish with the uncontrollable camera panning.. back and forth.. up and down.. I was getting a fvcking headache watching it.

Mannix, Chips, Starsky & Hutch, Dallas, The Love Boat, 8 is enough, Star Trek and so on... there were good shows when I was a kid.

There is still some goos stuff out there, more crap than good though I will admit.

i really liked Psyche. Forget what channel its on. The season just ended a couple weeks ago so i don't know when it comes back on.

My amateur theory is that with all the channels out there which need 24/7 programming, the writers are spread too thin. Not enough quality writers to crank out the product.

Couldn't agree more, they all just copy other crap that gets ratings. Sucks too since it's all in HD yet I watch none of it.

House and Studio 60 are two quality shows.
However, you can't just jump into seasonal TV, especially with things like Lost (which I don't even watch, yet somehow know quite a bit about due to my obsessive friends)

I think it's a great era for TV with the decline of reality shows in recent years, famous and good actors going into TV from movies, and the proliferation of original programming on cable networks.

I think that people always just complain about what's on TV.

It is Friday. Can't wait. One of the best series that I've seen a while and they entice with stuff like the resistance webisodes.

You need HBO. The Wire is very realistic and the best TV show right now. Rome was awesome and season 2 starts in January I think. Of course everyone knows about the Sopranos. Big love is something new/original and has been pretty good. Then theres Entourage, Curb your enthusiasm, Deadwood,... they are all good and beat the hell out of regular TV shows. Showtime has Weeds, Sleeper Cell, and Brotherhood which are all pretty good too. The best part is they are commercail free and can take more liberties with curse words/nudity/violence/etc that make them more realistic and entertaining to me.

There were lots of crappy shows in the past, there are lots of crappy shows today, and there always will be crap on TV. Crap has existed since before you were born and will continue to exist until after you die. Get over it.

I have NetFlix now and am in the process of getting the Seasons of Rome, and Curb Your Enthusiasm (which I have seen and love).

You can't just pick up Lost any old day of the week unfortunately. You have to watch every episode, from the beginning. It is daunting at this point in it's lifespan, but it is an excellent show, and I guarantee if you start from the beginning you will be hooked. I agree on 24, I never understood the appeal of the show, and I watched the first 2 seasons, trying to get into it. Entertaining at first, but then hopelessly repetitive. Friday Night Lights holds no interest for me, I like inspirational sports movies as much as the next guy, but don't see how they can be stretched over multiple episodes, not to mention multiple seasons. Doomed from the beginning to turn into a soap opera.

I'd say this season of television has introduced more good (so far) new shows than any I can remember in the past 5years.
