My new SETI cruncher. 🙂

First wu is in the grinder and at 26% after 33 minutes. 🙂

Soltek SL-75FRN2-L Motherboard
AMD Athon XP 2500 Barton 333 FSB
Cooljag JVC258A Heatsink
512MB Kingston HyperX PC2700 DDR running in dual-channel mode

I've gotta admit, this Soltek Golden Dragon is about the prettiest motherboard I've ever seen. With the blue heatsinks on the Kingston RAM and the red and gold MSI Ti4200 vid card, this is one very sharp looking system.

Temps are outstanding. This Cooljag cooler keeps the die temp at 39 under full load.

🙂

Very nice, look forward to the WU times.

Most heat and temp fanatics out there would flip when you say you are happy with 39, glad you are OK with it.

39C is very good under full load, crunching 2 WU's at a time....

OK with it?!? Under a full load?!? I'm ecstatic with that temp! That's the die temp, not the thermistor in the CPU socket. (Which reads 30, btw...) Most heat and temp fanatics also have to wear ear protection to be near their machines or have dropped $300 or more on a water cooling setup.

Times so far:

AR/Time

0.488 ... 2:38
0.716 ... 2:37
0.784 ... 2:41
1.263 ... 2:20
2.278 ... 2:17
6.024 ... 2:17

Great times, the new normal is double the amount of WU's per machine, 10-12 per day, WOW 😀😎

You also clearly understand the concept of constant heat dissipation that it is simply to prevent thermal runaway. It is a waste of money, time and energy to cool the components below what the normal die temp is designed to be at under normal operating conditions including overclocking which just moves the curve up a bit but not drastic.
