Oh bloody hell, not another toaster! Someone in their buying dept. needs to be thrown into a pool with all of the remaining bread creating/storing/slicing/toasting products.
Bread is big business!
The farmer currently gets about $3.50/bushel = $3.50 for 60lbs. of #1 or #2 wheat.
That's approximately 5.8 cents per pound of wheat. (You should know that this is probably an all-time high.)
back in August, when the farmer was getting about $2.80 (cash) per bushel, wheat cost about a penny less, or about 4.7 cents per pound of wheat.
1 lb. of whole wheat converts directly into 1 lb. of whole wheat flour.
However, a 2 lb. loaf of bread costs as much as $3.00+ at Safeway, King Soopers & the like!
That $3.00 bread contributed $.10 to the farmer's bank account.:thumbsdown:
Who do you think got the other $2.90?
OK, I don't know either but I want in on the deal!

RideFree, that's a great story. Why don't you buy the rest of the toasters and free up the next item for us? 😀

Too bad most farmers are locked into forward contracts way in advance and hence do not get the gains of the rise in grain prices...of course they also wouldn't have losses if grain prices went down....

I dunno for sure but I'm pretty sure DirecTV will *give* you a DirecTiVo box if you sign up for their service. I was offered this in a package by Verizon when I cancelled their service (I switched from their phone service to VOIP).

Its still going, but haven't bought anything yet. Hoping for the Bag again. 😉 And they need to stop the toasters!!

yep model number confirms it's the 4x5. still a good price though. cheapest is usually about $160
also 4x5 refers to the size of the boxed area inside the pad... not the whole thing.
