I've been trying to sell the X800XL for a while. I was originally gonna just buy my 7800GT myself and I needed the cash from the X800XL to offset the cosst. I had such a hard time selling the X800XL that when fecht gave me offer I decided I couldnt refuse it 🙂

I was gonna buy a cheap 6600GT to get me through till CHristmas and then throw that 6600GT in my backup Athlon XP 1700+ rig to replace the aging 9700P, but ultimately decided against it.

Oh yeah and i brought up the fact that I might buy a 7800GT now and when Christmas comes she can give me the other 7800GT for SLI, but no dice. 🙁 She almost flipped out on me. Good try though.

Nice gift. My wife (girlfriend at the time) bought me a Bronco with a 351 to work on so I wouldn't spend so much time on the computer. Fun truck, a bit pricier than a 7800 GT, but I think you got the better deal. =)

Yeah, that suggestion wasn't so great, IMHO. 🙂 I mean, if I bought someone one, and they got an additional after they started using it, I'd be fine with it, but pre-empting using my gift would piss me off. 😀

And anyway, it is you that sold the old card, not the GF anyway, so its not like there wasn't an option to just use it until the holidays are over, although I realise it was apparently used to fund the Tiffany's purchase.

My GF hates computer stuff. ABsolutely despises it. When I'm on Anandtech, she calls me an "anandtecher" and is mad at me the whole time.

She goes to the Paul Mitchell beauty school in San Francisco. She only knows what a 7800GT is cause I've been talking about it, even though she doesnt give a hoot about anything I tell her regarding computers. but she :heart:'s me!

It isn't hard at all. I haven't "gamed" for the last two months, by choice. There comes a point when even computers get boring. I thought I would never say that, but I am bored of computers finally. It took 10 years of it being a hobby and 5 years supporting it on the business end. I don't dislike computers, but I am not that interested in them anymore.

Anyway, go to the gym and workout... That is where most of my time is spent now. treasure the relationship you have, because once you get married everything is routine, yes, even that is routine... ... ...
