Done that. Such an action lasts for about 2-3 weeks before they forget about me.

And you be surprised how quick a 50 lb sack of rice will go if someones eating out of it 2-3 times a day outta 4 people.

Seriously man, assert yourself.

I had a very similar problem, and finally wailed on them making my presence heard. You have to stand up for yourself. Understand that many times people just don't care...that is why you have to at least make them stop messing with you. You pay rent. I, for example, made it perfectly clear that if I did not get any sleep, they were not going ot get a check for the rent at the end of the month because I would have been fired from work. To tell you the truth, their ways (going to sleep @ 3-6am...all 4 of them) almost got me fired....

..TWICE....

Enough is enough.....BE A MAN...or at least an ASIAN one*...;)

*Not a racist comment.....just reffering to the valor you should should show for your rice cookers.....

Those bastards are expensive...

Yup, it really sucks when it's multiple roommates versus you... put up with it for a year and get the hell OUT!

Putting your foot down against those kinda people usually results in them ignoring you since they think it's OK. You can't win... just leave.

Can't you store your bag of rice and any dry food in your room?

I don't know the brand of my rice cooker but its power cord can be detached from the cooker pretty easily. If yours is similar, you can hide the cord until you need to use it yourself.

You are the TOKEN asian bitch.

What you should do is start using their stuff.

I would use their stuff but they dont any any stuff that I want to use. As pleasing as a few sacks of ramen look....no. Hell, I dont think they have ever taken out the trash yet, usually ends up being me taking trash to dumpsta.

Unbelievable, isn't it? The garbage is overflowing but rather than dumping it outside just downstairs, more garbage gets piled up elsewhere. (i.e. by the counter, dining table, floor, etc.)

Acutally, my roommates take the trouble to start a new sack, hang it off the handles of the trash bin. Next thing I know, theres 4-5 sacks just surroinding the can. Then we got the usual fast food cups, wrappers littered in the living room. Friends come over, think I'm a slob. :(

You don't seem to understand... this is all a test of patience. Whoever gives up to the filth first loses, and is the permanent loser. You, my friend, have lost. Your only hope for survival is to dig deep and endure piles of trash for about 3 months, when there's so many bags of garbage that you can't navigate through the kitchen without resorting to the long jump. At that point, I'm sure someone else will yield and become the new bitch. Be strong.

Well your roommates have no respect for you and at this point I doubt that will ever change. Deal with it.

simple solution: leave something really tantalizing out and lace it with Ex-Lax.

Or a drop of Visine. Much more subtle (taste-wise) and more effective.

Visine tears? Do you only need to put in one drop? I think I remember CSI having something like that a couple weeks ago, I was playing UT TO at the time so I don't really remember.

LOL!

Why didn't I think of that when I was in school & had roommates.

dude,

I suggest you just nag them again and again about how this is your food and you are not going to eat it unless you pay up. And tellthem that if yhey are going to eat it, then they will pay. If they do not py, take that portion out of your monthly rent. Consistency is key. If you show them (in a consistent manner) that you are firm about them not using your food, they should stop. Besides, you said that if you put your foot down, it only lasts for like 2-3 weeks. If you put your foot down like 5 times, you will be ok for the remainder of the next semester (I'm assuming you are in college from all the previous messages).

It's an old trick I learned about years ago. If you want to see the results, put a drop in with your morning coffee and drink 'er down. Just don't plan on doing anything productive for the rest of the day. It'll make you pretty sick. Just don't use more than a drop - like anything else, in too great a quantity it can become toxic.

Move everything into your room, buy a lock, and get some earplugs. Problem solved.

I've had roommates like that before and believe me that the tension doesn't end. I had to lock up most of my food and stuff in my room otherwise it would be eaten or taken and not returned. The only real thing that you can do is either kick them out or move out. I got new roommates and now I feel alot more comfortable with leaving things out cause these people don't bother me and I don't bother them.

Here's what you do.

Set a new scheduled task to start on your computer. Winamp. Just one song. I suggest something like Deicide - Blame It On God.

Have it fire off at random intervals.

Turn up your speakers.

Lock the door.

Lock the breaker box.

Leave for the weekend.

Enjoy the rest of the semester without a roommate.

:D

a.) Play counterstrike at all hours of the night yelling and screaming at each other to cover their 6 while im studying?
b.) while at the same time, telling ME to turn down my music when THEY want to study even though i've repeatedly told them to stfu and i get a "sorry. but im gonna keep doing it anyways?
c.) tell you ya can't play music even at a low level because they have to sleep although at 2am you can still hear them play CS....

one of these days...i swear my roommates will all die a fiery death

Actaully they just like to have guests over at 2am, start cooking my rice and other food, leave all the dishes and pans out on the table.

#1. Lock up your food and personal belongings.
#2. Present a bill when they eat your food. Keep a running total. When it gets over $500.00, I'm sure you'll start thinking differently about suing to recover the money. I'm sure they have plenty of money for multiple beers and bags o'weed.< MY roommates always seemed to.
#3. Get an air horn and randomly fire it off when they are being dicks. Do this when you have classes or have to go to work early in the AM. Increase the frequency and duration of blasts until they get the message.
#4. (actually#1) Plan on getting new roommates or moving out.
Tell them in no uncertain terms that their free ride is over with you. Stick to it. Face the challenge. DO NOT CAVE IN. This will only set a pattern for other relationships as you move through life. Don't make the mistake of condoning and endorsing behavior which adversely affects you and your future.
YMMV...
Good luck.
I quit having roommates under similar circumstances.
I would rather live in my car than deal with roomates ever again.

Dude that's food. You don't mess with food. I have forced people to spit out food before that they grabbed off my tray. No one touches my food without me putting the fear of God into them.
