What is really going to piss you off are the people who are drinking the night of the 5th and realize they have some fireworks they didn't shoot the night before.

and 2am here, idiots still setting them off. in the parking spots. in front of my bedroom.

My dog is still freaking out so much I have to hold him to keep him from harming himself (by knocking things down running around in a panic)... Leashing does not work as the heaviest things in the room get pulled around by him knocking things off of them. Next year I am getting benadryl and giving him the proper doggie size dose hoping it works like the vet says it will, an inexpensive safe tranquilizer.

Happy freaking 5th, the holiday was yesterday, go home and sleep it off morons in the parking lot.

Yeah, finally slowing down here. Still an occasional "BOOM!" or "Pop," but not as frequent.
One of my neighbors said to expect this to continue well into August...:(

(it started over a month ago...and began in earnest about 2 weeks ago)

Be lucky it's fireworks and not guns firing. That's what we are celebrating!

I heard a good bit of gun shots. This started after the local town fireworks show ended, so i guess when people got home they got out their guns and started shooting. Made me jealous. i didn't feel like burning through my precious little ammo i have left. I just hope those folks weren't shotting at the fucking sky. I found a bullet embedded in my roof early this year after having to replace a few shingles from from storm damage. Looked like it had been there a while.

Bullets aren't bottle rockets assholes!!!

Oddly enough, the gun shots paled in comparison to the new years barrage. Wonder if more people were suffering from lack of ammo...

Whoa, that's scary. Shoot into a safe backstop people; bullets shot into the air can still kill.

I fell asleep last night to the wonderful sounds of fireworks. I feel sorry for those of you who have trouble sleeping with noise going on.

Wasn't too bad around here. It pretty much stopped completely by 10PM. Good thing, too, as I had to get up early for work this morning.

I've got absolutely nothing against lighting fireworks on the 4th, but have some common courtesy and stop at a decent hour.

My son gave me a 3rd degree burn near my arm pit with a Roman candle (not kidding). Happy 4th!!!!

I am very glad I can fall asleep with fireworks going off. Must suck to be such a light sleeper that they would keep you up.

It's 11:05 PM. Stop your fireworks already

That's just about when they stopped going off in my neighborhood. They actually had sky rockets... "bursting in air." Right outside my window. Volleys. When I was a kid they didn't sell that stuff. It was all ground based. Seems like that would be dangerous, sky rockets in a residential neighborhood. I have no idea if they were legal.

I don't want to whine too much but I got to get up at 4:50AM. Oh well. One day a year of this isn't too bad I guess. Maybe I should "join" in like mentioned above :)
Go to a drug store and buy silicone ear plugs. Well used, they block out 95% of the sound. If you need to get up early and there's noise, there is no better solution. I always have some near my bed just in case. My sister never turns in without them. But she has a cat that's a problem every night.

"sky rockets"

Such an odd way of saying it. :p

Most good fireworks are technically illegal in some states. In Ohio, anything that launches in the air is illegal.
We in NW Ohio jump over the Michigan border, buy a bunch of good stuff, and launch it here in Ohio, hoping police don't try and ruin the day. ;)

We had a bunch of mortars we launched last night. :D

11:05 is a totally reasonable time for fireworks to be going off. It's a once a year event, sucks you have to get up early but suck it up. Try to enjoy it.
