itouch 8 gig help please?

i just recieved a apple ipod touch 8 gig and i just need to know what freeware i can download to retrieve music out of the ipod into my computer,my buddy wants a copy of all his music,(if)im able to retrive it,.any help would be extremely appreciated.thanks in advance.
